Structure

CIRCA welcomes submissions for publication in various formats. This can include (but is not limited to) research articles, visual essays, interviews, or creative works. Submissions should address the theme and can include an abstract. Please also include up to five keywords at the beginning of the submission.

Word Limit

Please include a word count for your paper. Articles should not exceed the 5000 word limit, and abstracts should not exceed 150 words.

Styling

The style and referencing of articles published in CIRCA journal are to follow the 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style with endnotes. A bibliography is not required.

Formatting

All articles may be submitted in a Microsoft Word format (.docx) or Google Doc form. Images should be saved separately from the text, and uploaded with respective figure numbers in file names. Please ensure that all images are of at least 300 ppi, and are cited and captioned according to the styling guidelines. Authors are responsible for clearing copyright for images used in all accepted articles.

Alongside your original submission, please upload an anonymous version that omits all indicators of the writer’s identity. This will be used in the blind review process. Final acceptance for publication in CIRCA is subject to the outcome of the blind peer review process.

All submissions are to be sent to circajournal@gmail.com with the subject title ‘Veneer’ by June 25th, 2023 at 11:59 pm. Final selections will occur by July 3rd, 2023.
